THE211 Introduction to Biblical Theology
This course provides an introduction to the study of biblical theology, focusing on the overarching narrative and key themes of the Bible as a unified whole. Through historical, literary, and inductive approaches to Scripture, students will explore the major theological themes such as covenant, salvation, and the kingdom of God, while examining how these themes unfold across both the Old and New Testaments. By tracing the development of these themes, students will gain a deeper understanding of the unity and diversity of the Bible's message and its theological coherence.
THE220 Creation to Consummation
This course is a study of the overarching storyline of the Bible, with special attention given to how the Scriptures fit together as a unified whole. This course will trace the development of key themes that unite the Scriptures, beginning at creation in Genesis 1 and ending at the consummation of all things in Revelation 22.
THE225 The New Testament Church
This course is an introduction to the origin, nature, purpose, mission, polity, and ministry of the church. It explores the biblical and theological issues involved in the doctrine of the church with a particular focus on the practical preparation of students for effective ministry in local churches or parachurch ministry organizations, based on a biblical understanding of the local church.
THE230 Christian Apologetics
This course is a survey and evaluation of various evangelical approaches to apologetics and an examination of various worldviews, with an emphasis on the development of a Christian worldview. The course will equip the believer in the use of scripture and theistic proofs to defend the Christian faith by identifying and responding to attacks from secularists, pragmatists, skeptics, and those in other religions. Most importantly, this course will bolster the faith of Christians by commending the reality, relevance, reliability, credibility, excitement, and wonder of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
THE250 Theology of the Gospel
This course introduces the gospel and its implications for the Christian life and ministry, with a focus on understanding the gospel in the context of the entire biblical narrative, developing a gospel-centered life, and viewing ministry through the lens of the good news of Jesus Christ.
